TV Series's Remakes and DVD release's

A while back me and Anglo were reminiscing on the old day's :P when we used to watch Hart to Hart and the The Fall Guy among many other series's like the Bionic Woman, The Six Million Dollar Man and Battlestar Galactica; which were famous series's airing from the late 70's right through to the eighties.

Well, I went and did some googling after that and found out that the First Season of The Fall Guy has recently being released on DVD ( I already got my copy :P ) and I even saw that there is a remake of Battlestar Galactica, which isn't that good to tell you the truth. Actually, just this Wednesday I was lucky to see the pilot episode of the remake of The Bionic Woman, which was great, a must see.

So I was wondering how many of you out there have seen any of these series or their remakes or reruns ( for the young ones :P ) and what were your favorite series's of the time ................?

@ highlander :

Actually I liked Hart to Hart as well when I was younger; but I was to young to look at it from a romantic viewpoint ... I was to intrigued with the crimes :p

Salam PH,

Well you dredged up some memories for me. :-)

Saw some episodes of Hart to Hart because my parents loved that show. My brother and I watched the 6 Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman (could actually here the music that played when they started off running that slow run....LOL)

Amira and I LOOOOOOOOOOVE the Golden Girls. Also liked the Nanny. (We love the lifetime channel for showing great old reruns as well as Nick at Night.) Although honestly, I saw the originals. LOL

I liked the Golden Girls as well I especially liked the old granny in it; but I 'm not familiar with "The Nanny" nor "Nick at Nite" when it comes to children channels I'm more into Marvel stuff and Japanese anime ......... :D

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

the past is usually prettier .... we tend to forget the bad memories in it and only hold on to the good .......:)

@ Mani again :

Don't you have any memories of maybe He-Man, Transformers or Thundercats .. you should make a post for your generation :p.

hehehehe yes those names do ring the memory bells.. but Lost libyano once put it up (remincicing the 90's and late 80s) and that was a cracker.. so its been done..

as for things being prettier in the past.. it is so strange isn't it.. cause to most of us the badness and uncertainty of present and future life (respectivley) makes us forget or not anticipate the pretty things in life...

the irrationality of distance at work...

the irrationality of space...

if I was kind to u for a year, then slapped you, for no reason today... what would u remember the past.. or do u just see pain and revenge? :P

PH said...

"what would u remember the past.. or do u just see pain and revenge? :P"

Hypothetically speaking ....... I would remember me beating you up ... LOL ( joking) ....... but seriously if you want to slap me, I mean if it will make you feel better I wouldn't hit back .... not you :D.

I used to like all of them :o)

occasionally I watch re-runs of the Golden Girls on Living TV, I heard about Wonder Woman return but we havent seen any yet in the UK.
Now we have re-runs of Dallas, I bet Dynasty will be back as well!

at that time we had few TV channels in the UK and we used to watch what ever is thrown at us. of course now there 100 of channels yet hardly anything good to follow, I did watch Ugly Betty and liked it, they only showd series 1 so far.

after all this, I feel so old, I am off to bed :o)

Oh my goodness, I'm laughing so hard I have tear running down my cheeks and my stomach is cramping from laughing so hard.

And just so we're real clear, I love you both so don't even think of pulling those moves on one another or I'll take you both out. :D

ugh@ old people becoming nostalgic (Mani) Oh wait dear brother your day will come and you'll be regailing of the good ole days, and when you do THIS VERY BLOG DISCUSSION will ring in your ears. You'll both laugh and blush at the memory. :-)

@ Anglo :

"at that time we had few TV channels in the UK"

yeah I remember 4 channels; bbc1, bbc2, channel 4 and channel 3 ( either ITV or some other channel depending on your region ).

"I did watch Ugly Betty and liked it, they only showd series 1 so far."

Yeah Ugly Betty is good from what I hear; but I've been too caught up with other series's I haven't had time to watch it. By the way only season one has been aired season 2 is supposed to start on 27/9 you can check it out here.

If you want to see other good new series's try " How I met your mother", " Two men and a half", "The war at home" the first seasons of "Scrubs" were good but the last season isn't that funny and "According to Jim" is funny too ... you can search them in the website I linked to for "Ugly Betty" .....

"after all this, I feel so old, I am off to bed :o)"

Good night then :)).

@ ibeebarbie :

Well glad we made you laugh :)) ; but seriously don't worry we're only joking.

"Oh wait dear brother your day will come "

Shhhhhh you shouldn't remind him let him enjoy his youth :P.

salaam all

Salam,
" Two men and a half" is a really funny show. One of my dad's favorites.

Tonight I get a special treat. My parents are coming over, and mom is going to watch Amira while dad and I go see Hairspray. My parents went and saw it last week and my dad fell in love with it. Said his toe started taping the moment the music began and never stopped through the whole show. It's so fun to see when either of your parents get excited about anything. So, I'll have to report on the film tomorrow, inshallah.

I saw an interview on Jay Leno regarding that movie it seems to be good; but not my type of movie. We'll be waiting for your report nonetheless :D .

Have you seen the movie blast from the past, that is a really funny movie you should watch it.
